He's cute when he blushes and the red in his cheeks only makes his eyes stand out further. If this guy's date doesn't turn up, York might see if he can get him to stick around for a meal.

'Not a fan of crowds and loud music then?' he asks with a grin. 'There are other options besides dates and clubbing.'

"Oh, it's not that," Delta says, even though it's true. "It's just... what would I even wear?"

Sarcasm is just how he manages things that fluster him.

'I'm sure you could pull most things off,' he says.

Okay that was definitely flirting. This guy really was hitting on him.

"Would you believe me if I said I couldn't dance?" Delta suggests, finally smiling at the stranger.

York's smile brightens as one spreads across the man's face. He seems to be growing more at ease and his smile is gorgeous.

'Anyone can dance if they move with the music,' he returns. 'You don't go clubbing for good dance moves.'

"I don't go to clubbing," Delta points out. He looks around to make sure no one is coming through the space between their tables before leaning out of his chair enough to offer a hand to York.

"Delta. How long do you wait before it officially counts as being stood up?"

'Fair enough.' It's not for everyone.

He leans over and takes the offered hand with his own. Delta. That's an interesting name. Nickname? He likes it. 'York. I guess it kind of depends on you. I gave up after half an hour.'

Half an hour. He's approaching that.

"How long have you been waiting?" Delta asks, "That is... if you don't mind me prying?"

'Nah, don't worry. We were meant to meet over forty five minutes ago by now.'

Well, now he's got an idea. It might be foolish too do it, but really, it's better than waiting.

"You could join me," Delta says hesitantly. "I mean, the guy isn't showing up..."

York's eyes widen a little. He hadn't expected Delta to be the one to suggest, but he can't help the smile as he nods.

'I'd like that.'

Oh god, he did it. He said it. And the guy said yes. Delta's cheeks are even redder then.

"At least this way we don't have to go home after a completely failed night," suggests, suddenly a touch more shy than he had been. But perhaps for the better. They can cover their own meals and Delta won't have to go home with his tail between his legs.

The way Delta turns beat red as soon as York accepts his offer makes him wonder if he had been expecting rejection. Or was at least new to flirting. In any case, it's rather sweet. Though he does seem to withdraw a bit.

'This is true,' he agrees. 'New opportunities spring from failed plans.'

Truth was that it was both things. Expecting rejection, and new to flirting. Delta's just a lot of awkwardness right now, but York seemed okay with the offer.

"Exactly," Delta agrees, gesturing to the seat in front of him. "We even have the same waiter. He would have no problem delivering your order here."

All of that makes sense. "Join me, please?"

'Sure.' Well, why not? Delta makes a good argument, it would stop them having to talk over the gap between tables and on the off chance either of their previous dates does eventually decide to show up... they can figure something out.

He grabs his jacket off the back of his chair and moves over to sit opposite Delta. Seeing him closer... yep, he's still cute.

York almost is more unfairly attractive this close. But he does smile as he lifts his glass to York. "Thank you. This way I don't have to crane my neck to try and speak to you."

'Does save the strain and ducking back in whenever the waiters walk by,' he agrees, grinning. 'So. Hi. Nice to meet you, Delta.'

"Nice to meet you, York," Delta agrees with a smile. He's charming, and he's got a smile that could light up a room. "Do you know who you're waiting for?"

'No one now, he's already here.' He winks at him.

Oh dear. The man seems to just have an unreasonable amount of charm. Yes his face is still red.  “I... well... how could someone stand a guy as charming as you up? Do you work for the IRS?”

Watching Delta blush is quickly becoming a highlight of this evening. He has to laugh at the questions. 'Aw, thanks. I'm a locksmith, actually.'

Not expected but a reasonable job. Delta actually looks a touch impressed by that. “Sounds like a good line of work. People always lock themselves out of things. But I’ve always wondered how they prove they have the right to have whatever it is unlocked.” He’s so focused on York that he doesn’t see someone new come in, a very out of breath man with a bouquet of daisies. One whose eyes are casting about for something or someone. The guy is balding and his clothes look three kinds of wrinkled and a sharp set of eyes might catch the bruises across his knuckles that implied the guy was either a boxer—unlikely given his build—or had been in a fight recently.

'There are security checks,' he says. 'But it's not perfect. However, in terms of cars and houses, most thieves going for robbery are local and wouldn't want their faces to be seen, which they would be if they called me to open the thing for them.' Facing away from the door, York hears it open, but pays it little mind.

Oh dear. Delta ducks his head when he sees the man at last, quickly tugging at his tie. Once he has it done he tucks the thing under his leg.  “Pretend you’re supposed to be here,” Delta says quickly. He knows those bruises. That guy definitely fights. God he hopes Omega didn’t post his picture on the profile. Don’t let the man recognize him.

The sudden change makes York tense. He's not entirely sure who Delta's just seen, but he doesn't look around, much as he wants to, not when Delta's clearly trying not to draw attention. So he forces his shoulders to drop again.

'So it's all settling down now, which is a relief. And North, you remember North? He's got a kid now, who is adorable. Very energetic and friendly once he gets used to you. North loves him to bits, of course.'
