'There's no need to rush, we can stay here a bit longer.'

He smiles. 'In that case, I'm honoured.'

"You're luck of the draw," Delta returned, unable to help the dry humor in his tone. He's too used to it with his siblings.

"How about... if tonight goes well, we consider pizza another time?"

He laughs. 'I'll take that. Luck does seem to follow me round at times, and it seems to be serving well tonight.' He winks.

'I'd like that.' Very much, in fact.

Wow. Nida blushes again, how is this man so good at being like... well, this.

"Alright then. So we should probably pick out a real dinner if we're staying," Delta suggests.

So. Cute.

'If you want. I wasn't implying we had to stay for the main meal, but if you'd prefer it over pizza, I'm happy with that.'

"What would you prefer?" Delta asked, a bit shy.

[depthlesslock]

He thinks for a moment.

'Finish starters here then go get pizza?' Fancy restaurants aren't his home turf.

The suggestion gets laughter from Delta, who nods his agreement. "Provided there is one rule. No anchovies on the first date?"

It is York's turn to laugh at that. 'I can agree to those terms.'

[protective_logic]

"Alright then," Delta smiled. "I'll pay for this, you pay for pizza?"

Seemed like a fair split. They were his olives and he didn't know if York had ordered beyond his drink.

'I'll go for that,' he agreed, nodding. He'd be very happy to treat this guy to pizza in exchange for his company and a free drink here.

They work through the appetizers and drinks and Delta absolutely pays for it. When he stands with York he offers his arm. Walk him to a pizza dinner?

"Lead on?"

It's good food, but there are few things that can beat pizza. York smiles wide and takes the offered arm without hesitation and leads them out of the restaurant.

"My pleasure.

"My luck," Delta countered, smiling softly to himself. Best result to a blind date ever. He was going to have to get Omega to delete that posting for him though. Because of creepy man. He didn't want to deal with that again.

He grins as they head down the street. It rather is luck. For all their evenings could have respectively sucked what with him being stood up and Delta's date being a dick... This is pretty great.

"Here we go." He lets go of Delta's arm only to open the door to the pizza place open for him.

"Charming," Delta smiled as he headed through the door. Smiled and found himself a nice spot at a booth and gestured for York to join him. Beside each other or across he doesn't care. "Would you hate me if I ordered calzone?"

York chose to sit across from him. Easier to talk that way, plus the bonus of being better able to see him. "Not at all!"

"I mean, it misses the point of pizza, but so much cheese," Delta smiled as he took a menu, basically a laminated bit of paper, to consider fillings with. "We can share it if you want."

"Cheese is good," he agrees, scanning his own menu. "We could get a pizza and a calzone and split them both? Or that might be too much?"

"Well, I suppose you have the option of leftovers then," Delta gins, because hey, that isn't a bad investment, especially since York will still probably pay less for this date than the original one he was supposed to have.

He laughs. "An added bonus," he agrees because boy oh boy has he lived on leftovers a fair few times. "We can split what's left."

[protective_logic]

"Seems fair," he smiles, because yeah, it does. But for now he's just happy to get to know this guy more. He considers what he coudl have in his calzone as he thinks.

"So, I don't really know anything about you, York. Do you have family?"

[depthlesslock]

"I do. Don't see my parents so much since I moved out, but I go see them now and then. Got a group of friends who I consider my second family. Bunch of dorks, and I love 'em." His smile is wide and fond.

"How about you? You mentioned a brother?"

"Would you believe two sisters and seven brothers?"

Funny thing, Delta doesn't even know there is overlap in their circle. One of York's 'friends' who was Delta's elder sister.

"Many of them are still young. I'm the fourth oldest, and one of the two primary guardians. Ever date someone who is more or less a father?"

"Whoa, are you serious? There's ten of you?!" His eyes are wide, but then he laughs. "Yeah, you know what, I believe you." Crazy as it sounds, but hey.

He grins slightly. "Believe it or not, I actually have. Not for very long though, and he was less a surrogate dad to siblings and more the group dad. That's some dedication on your part though."
