D? What do you mean your helmet is broken? How long is it going to take to fix? Do not die in a plague cloud or I will kill you myself. Do you need me to skip out early and get the twins or anything? I can do it, make up the time later.

I'm serious about the plague cloud. Tell me when you get this message so I know you're not dead. And if you don't get back to me before I'd have to leave, I'm going to go get the twins anyways.

Sorry I'm so late getting back to you on this, Meg. When I took the kids to school this morning I found my helmet had a flickering display. Went in to Smithson's and it's been fixed. I have time to pick the twins and Theta up, don't worry.

Strangely enough when I went up to pay, Smithson told me that a man I'd been talking to about assistive-tech mods had already paid for my repairs. Add into that Sigma dropping by and buying me lunch, I've had a very strange day.

Well, that was lucky. I wonder what his angle was. How much longer is your helmet going to last? Or was that somehow not caused by age?

Did you actually eat lunch? Solid food? I hope you did or that you paid Sigma enough to lie to you.

I don't think he had an angle. I think he was just perceptive and read my... situation properly. He was half blind you see. Perhaps pity? Kinship? Understanding? I know not and while I was furious, I can't deny that the money saved is not a relief.

A chocolate milkshake counts as lunch for all intents and purposes when mixed with french fries. I will not accept arguing.

Please pick up dinner. This has set my day back quite a bit and I need more time for class work and work work. I fear I'm going to need to replace my helmet sooner than originally planned.
