The littles see pancakes as a treat. I see it as a way to get more fiber and less sugar into them.

No, but they are only allowed to have so much. And only on the weekends.

Good. We've got a rule going when they're over that they have to eat their vegetables if they want a cookie after dinner.

Florida's been imposing it here. It might be a really good idea. But their pouting...

They're five. They're going to pout so long as they know you'll cave. They don't need to be so picky about what food they eat.

They have a pretty serious example in Omega's loathing of white cheeses and my previous medical avoidance of spicy.

Doesn't mean you need them to be picky about everything else. The veggies will do them good.

True. It's just been hard to get them to do it. We didn't have sufficient bribes before.

Hell, I was going to make them do it without a bribe. Florida's the one that started offering cookies.

When Omega's back I'll want to talk to you both about how to get them to eat their veggies without bribes.

I never said we were good parents. Just that we tried our hardest.

I know. You've done damn good and I'm figuring this crap out myself.

Which reminds me, I needed to ask you what you guys do with the twins on weekends. Florida and I were talking about keeping them for a whole weekend sometime and wanted to make sure we had enough to keep them entertained.

Frequently, if the weather permits, one or more of us take them to the park. We have videos and games at home. There is fort making and television and lots of coloring. Sometimes they have playdates with friends.

They'd love to spend more time with you. I would also think that Theta would appreciate the attention.

We were talking about taking them to an amusement park and I was going to invite Theta along. He needs to show me some of his skateboard moves he's been working on.

Absolutely. He wants to invite you to the show-day his summer camp will be having near the end of their year. Hopefully you'll be able to make it. And hopefully he finds out when it is soon.

I'll make time. I'm guessing he's been enjoying it?

Enjoy is a VERY tame word for it. He loves it. He's so proud of his progress.

Good. I'll start inviting him along if we're not doing anything too kiddy. I want him to have a good summer, too.

He wants to know you. That makes him happy, the chance at having a bit sister. But you probably need to brush up more on signing. Theta embraces the silence I can't stand. Sometimes he takes out his aids just to have the quiet.

I'm going to need to sign more around you then to make sure I don't say something stupid on accident.

I would enjoy that. I think signing more is... good for me.

Then prepare to help supplement the lessons I've been getting from Maine. Once things return to normal.
