Because of the explosion that is apparently happening in the house over Sigma moving out.

It's fine. Omega will cool down in time. I've even got the twins close to bed now. Of course they and Theta have turned our room into a mattress based pillow fort. I expect we'll be sleeping in a blanket nest tonight.

You're sure you're okay? Do you want me to come over?

I'm perfectly fine. My favorite blanket is being used as a roof, but I'm good. It's getting late, and with your boyfriend hurt, I don't want to take you from him if you're there.

He'll live if I need to leave for the night, Delta. It's not a big deal if you need me there.

You're our sister and you're always welcome here. But I do not want you to believe that Omega throwing a fit means I need you here. Your company is wonderful, but I do not wish you to see only us when we are at odds. It isn't fair to you, and it would make it seem to Omega that he is either being teamed up upon or that I am unable to control my own feelings and went 'crying' to you.

Well, too late for that because already I hear from all of you plenty when you're at odds and want me involved. If you need my help, I'm here. Even if you just want me to take the twins off your hands for a day or so. I can make room for them to have a sleepover or something.

My history with him is more often fine than it is not. He is just a bit worked up recently, especially given the changes in our circumstances.

I promise I will. But at the moment, if I 'call you in' I am a child who cannot handle a minor disagreement on his own. If there is one thing you may not have come to know about Omega yet, it is that he has a rather impressive streak of connecting attempts at being emotionally open with weakness. Your presence may be seen as me unable to handle an argument.

It is how Omega expresses himself. They have been made abundantly aware of the fact that such behavior is completely unacceptable. They think Omega gets grounded for it.

Really? You're going to say that? I know it doesn't make it better. But Omega has a temper. How do you expect me to deal with that? Honestly, because I ran out of ideas years ago.

I hold precisely zero authority over him, except for his funds. If I attempt to use those to punish him, I would be a tyrant or something else to criminalize me for attempting to correct the behavior.

This house works in a very specific manner. Omega is the boss. Accept that and get out of the way. It's the only way this works for me. I'm not one of the littles, who can avoid his anger by coming to me. Because Omega won't often contradict a decision I've made. 'Weakens us' as authority figures. That way I get his anger and not them.

It's not better. But it's all I've got.

I'm not expecting you to magically make it better, but this isn't the first argument you all have had that's gotten out of hand over something small.

I'm worried. About all of you. Would it be better if I were in the house more? When Sigma moves out, there'll be more space for that.

Please, Beta, there is tension between Omega and myself. Yes. This is true. But we can't expect you to act as a mediator. When he calms down we'll try and figure it out.

I'm not going to trap you in this. You have your own home, your own life, and your own concerns.

And so should you. It's not fair to either of you that you're stuck in that house since you have kids to take care of.

If Omega wants to walk away, he's welcome to. I anticipate he will. By my place is here. It always has been. The littles are my responsibility.
